One toe in, one foot in, knee-deep, waist-deep . . . that’s often how some of us get in the water, especially if the water’s cold, right?! Not 2013 Carrollton High School senior Lucy- she’s able to jump in, ALL in- with an enormous pool full of swimmers watching her and chanting her name! True story- the first time we photographed Lucy (at her spokesmodel shoot), she was brave enough to jump into the water in front of teammates and other swimmers in a PROM DRESS as they cheered for her! What a good sport! Shooting her at Lakeshore Pool where she swims competitively was truly an unforgettable experience- from the fun chants of the crowd of swimmers (who were supposed to be practicing, haha) to the high-pitched, cutest squeal ever from Lucy as she jumped into the water in her long, shiny, green prom dress. We loved the look of the skylight in the natatorium for some out-of-the-water photos too, but the “crowd favorite” has definitely been the fun, happy capture of Lucy IN the water in that bright green dress.
It’s no surprise that EVERYONE who hears the name Lucy Edgar immediately says, “I love Lucy!” And, no, it’s not because of the old show- it’s because Lucy is genuinely loved and respected by all. She has the biggest, brightest smile that runs deep, and her reckless abandon as she jumps or dives into the water is a quality found in her life too. She’s either jumping in with both feet or diving in headfirst to the beautiful surrender of living life with no regrets, unnecessary reserve, or holding back when it comes to “carpe diem” and loving people! Of course, Lucy’s deep-rooted smiles made their way into her non-swimming photos too, from colorful, autumn shots on the sidewalk to glowing nature shots by stone textures.
