Maybe we should have saved this title for the final son of the Sauls family- Cole- but we couldn’t resist pointing out the legacy that’s already continuing with 2015 Carrollton H.S. graduate Luke! We photographed his older brother Cain in the spring of 2013 for his senior photos, and we learned just how important baseball is to the Sauls family. Cain, Luke, and Cole’s dad has played baseball throughout his life, and their mom wrote a book that compares baseball to the game of life! Pick up a copy of God and Baseball by J.H. Sauls when you get a chance- it’s a great read and will help you become a better player for the ultimate Coach: God!
That’s the kind of player Luke is: he spent his high school career playing for one of the best baseball teams in the state (in fact, he was part of the 2014 state championship winning team!), yet knows that winning isn’t everything. He knows there’s a Divine Coach even greater than the ones at Carrollton High School (and they are great- in talent and in character!). He plays everyday- as his mom talks about in her book- as if he is in the national championship game. And did we mention he plays with this much heart in two sports? Yep, we can’t forget to mention Luke’s football talent! Mrs. Sauls, we think your next book should parallel FOOTBALL to the game of life (and we would be the first to purchase a copy)! In football, baseball, and life, both of Luke’s parents can take credit for Luke’s successful prioritizing of the things that matter most. Just as Mr. Nathan Sauls helped toss the ball to Cain and Luke at their shoots, he has tossed the “ball” of wisdom to all three of his sons. He sets the example of faith and faithfulness, and the joy of this whole family is contagious! We take joy in being part of each son’s senior year at their senior shoots. We love seeing the legacy of baseball and great character continue. Sauls family- we love you guys, and congrats to Luke this year!
